Actress, author, journalist, philanthropist and television personality Donna Hanover is the host of “Famous Homes & Hideaways,” an exciting half-hour lifestyle television series. Some of the stars she has interviewed in their homes for “Famous Homes & Hideaways,” include: Debbie Reynolds, Larry Hagman, Janet Leigh, Tippi Hedren, Scott Hamilton, Robert Goulet, and Lindsay Wagner.
As an actress, Donna Hanover received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Ruth Carter Stapleton in “The People vs. Larry Flynt,” directed by Milos Forman. Some of her other films include: “Series 7: The Contenders,” “Ransom,” “Just the Ticket,” and “Superstar.” Ms. Hanover starred in the off-Broadway play “The Vagina Monologues,” and has been seen on television in “The Practice,” “Sex & the City,” and “Ally McBeal,” as well as in recurring roles on “Law and Order,” “One Life to Live” and “Family Law.”
As a journalist, Ms. Hanover contributed to the TV-magazine program “Extra!” and has written features for Good Housekeeping magazine. As an author, Ms. Hanover combines expert advice and true, happily-ever-after stories to inspire readers to reconnect with past loves in her book, “My Boyfriend’s Back”.
Ms. Hanover is also well-known for her hands-on feature stories where she has trained with the FBI, flown with the Blue Angels, played football at the New York Giants training camp, rehearsed with the Radio City Rockettes, and ice skated with the New York Rangers.
Throughout her career, Ms. Hanover has anchored and produced TV and radio programs for stations across the United States, including WPIX-TV and WNYW-TV in New York City, as well as those in Miami; Pittsburgh; Columbus, Ohio; Utica, NY; and Danbury, CT. In addition to “Famous Homes & Hideaways,” she has been seen on cable, hosting “In Food Today” on The Food Network and “House Beautiful” on A&E.
While First Lady of the City of New York, Ms. Hanover became known for her work with Project A.L.S., The March of Dimes and the Race for the Cure. She received her BA from Stanford University and her Masters degree from the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University. |
