The camera we have come to know as THE BRAVEST Vest Cam is our distinct and unique way of getting an up-close and inside view of the action and danger that firefighters face.
Approved by fire departments across North America, including the Fire Department of New York, the Vest Cam is a state-of-the-art mini camera system specially designed for THE BRAVEST to enable us to capture never-before-seen images that firefighters encounter when entering a building filled with smoke or fire.
Designed to attach to the harness of the Scott pack that holds a firefighters air tank, the Vest Cam is fastened to the shoulder of the harness and is connected by wire to a protective water and heat resistant box containing the video tape. The entire oxygen camera unit weighs approximately 2.5 lbs. and rests next to the bottom of the firefighters air tank, leaving the firefighter free and clear of distractions or any hindering devices. Once properly integrated into the Scott pack harness (a tedious three-hour process), the camera is totally non-encumbering and can be turned on by a simple push of a button.
THE BRAVEST Vest Cam is the brainchild of Mitchell Wagenberg of Street-Vision, a company specializing in very hi-tech surveillance devices. Wagenberg has worked previously for ABCs Prime Time Live, & HBO's Taxi Cab Confessions.
