"The hottest new reality show this fall." –TV Guide

"The timing couldn’t be better for this new documentary series that gives firefighters the ‘Cops’ treatment." –Chicago Sun-Times

"Aside from capturing the unique firehouse culture, ‘THE BRAVEST’ honors the heart, soul and spirit of the firefighter, and tells their true tales of bravery and selflessness." –Reuters TV

"’THE BRAVEST’ is easily the best reality series…the series is the most technically accomplished of its kind." –The Star-Ledger

"Our decision to release "THE BRAVEST" to the home video market is a direct result of the overwhelming response we have received from viewers. The bulk of viewer mail not only offers praise for the series, but also includes requests for a home video version. We are pleased to meet this demand and look forward to matching our broadcast success with the VHS and DVD releases," said Bruce Paisner, President, Hearst Entertainment, Inc.

"THE BRAVEST" is the first real-life television series to accurately depict the daily life of firefighters; our nation’s most recognized heroes. "THE BRAVEST" takes viewers to the front lines of firefighting and documents all aspects of the firefighter’s job. The series focuses on the daily real-life exploits of these brave men and women with compelling, oftentimes emotionally charged footage that places the viewer in the center of the drama as it unfolds.

"‘THE BRAVEST’ is a well-produced reality series that gives viewers the only behind-the-scenes look at the true world of firefighting," said Greg Taylor, Director of Acquisitions, UAV Entertainment. "Even before the events of September 11, we considered this series to be the perfect vehicle to show the world the true face of firefighting. It is important for all of us to see a glimpse of who these everyday heroes really are, and ‘THE BRAVEST’ gives us just that—like no other show on television."

"Burning Brownstone," the first episode in the video two-pack, features Brooklyn, New York’s Rescue 2, whose firefighters respond to a second-story brownstone apartment fire that is quickly spreading to the roof. Next, firefighters are called in to assist emergency medical services (EMS) workers with the transport of a 600-lb man who is suffering from shortness of breath. Rescue 2 also responds to a blazing row house that is threatening to spread to adjoining residences. Next, viewers ride along with San Francisco’s House 7, Rescue Squad 2 as they respond to a stubborn house fire, join the HAZMAT unit to investigate an unknown substance at an auto repair shop; and witness first-hand as San Francisco’s Bravest help police apprehend a man who is trapped on a roof.

"A Tribute to Heroes," the second episode, begins with a touching and insightful look at the men from New York City’s most elite fire companies, Rescue 1 and Rescue 2, who were lost in the World Trade Center disaster. Taped prior to September 11, these brave firefighters shared their thoughts on the profession they love, their families, the brotherhood of the fire department, fear, adrenaline, and the inherent dangers of the job. Also in the second episode, Rescue 2 firefighters battle the "red devil" at an auto repair shop; extinguish a third-story apartment fire where a resident is forced to jump from a window; rescue a pedestrian hit by a train; and monitor carbon monoxide levels while extinguishing a fire in a manhole.

The DVD release of "THE BRAVEST" will feature interactive menus, scene access for both episodes and interesting facts and statistics from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Fire Analysis and Research division, along with a copy of The Fireman’s Prayer.
